Lately, my work has transformed from a call to veganism with full respect to Mother Earth to now a search for a fantasy world that we all may escape to. My relationship to plants and animals is still at the forefront. My current fibers work explores a fairytale-like world where plants and animals flourish and intermix with one another freely; bringing tangible slivers of the ‘outside’  inside. Using playful imagery and colors, I channel the stories and ideas I was taught about by my grandmother in my youth, as well as drawing inspiration from Pagan fairy tales. Overall, my work demonstrates an interconnectedness across nodes in the food chain, and a curiosity for how this looks when inverted. This work is the fruit of what can bloom in a Midwestern backyard.
